Sorry but I'm feeling a little dense here. What is the major advantage to using BBF? The camera has to focus whether it's BBF or not. What does BBF buy you? I own a Canon 7D MK II and it shoots 10 fps whether I use BBF or not.
Don't be dense; do a bit of research about BBF ... all shall be revealed to you.

Using shutter button focus you continually focus every blessed time you press the shutter whether you press half way and pause or press all the way down. When you release it and press again it refocuses.
With BBF, properly set, you press and lock in the focus, you don't have to hold it like using the shutter button. The shutter button then has no effect on focus.
If you set to AF-C you can follow the subject in focus.
I went to this about 6 months back and had to trial and error to make it work. Didn't get it at first but so glad I stayed with it (also, it seems to focus better). I have said before, 'I will never go back (front is probably more accurate)'.
Still, it is a matter of preference, if you are happy with the shutter button focus and don't wish to change, I say 'don't change'. What's good for the goose sometimes doesn't help the gander.

Using BBF is a choice to always hold that button to focus and let go to lock focus as opposed to only pressing that same button when you want to lock focus. Either way you have to press the shutter to take the picture.
It obviously works well for many people. Many use it because of all the hype. From reading some posts over the past few months, there are people who claim to use it, but don't really know what it does.
The good thing is, unless your photography puts food on the table, everyone can experiment, get some photos to hang on the wall, and have fun.
