Hi all, I have been taking pictures for a few years and my wife tells me some of the pictures are really good, however I think she is just being a loving wife. I would like my new friends from uhh to give me some honest opinions and tell me what could be better or if the photos are even presentable. I am just an amateur, and I value your opinions because of the awesome photos you put on uhh. I thank you in advance for your evaluations.

You have run the color saturation way too high. The secret is too, when needed, to add some saturation, but only enough to the point where you cannot tell that you did it. I also feel that the contrast is way too high on these shots too. Also, if you hit the square marked "store original", then the photo will able to be looked in full screen and downloaded. Then if I or someone else wanted to rework the photo to show you exactly what they mean, they can. At times it may require, you send them an untouched photo. You can even send a RAW file; it won't be seen on the screen when they open your thread but they can download it. Just make sure it's a RAW file the person can work with. I, personally can work with an NEF or DNG file; prefer the DNG. If you want to send me these photos untouched, I'll show you how I would have fixed them. Your composition and framing of of your shots is very pleasing to the eye.

Hi Bill, welcome to UHH! At the bottom of the page click on "all sections" to find specialty forums, including critique and For Your Consideration, which is a "coffee shop" atmosphere where feedback on images is offered in a more casual setting

In photo #1, my eye is seeing the ramp (bridge?) as dominating the scene, so I'm left wondering what I'm missing beyond. The trees on each side offer nice natural framing, but of...what?

Thanks WhiteWolfOwner. I don't have a way to change the format to DNG and I have been taking the photos in the .jpg format. I have ps and can change a photo to a .png format, but that is the best I can do. After reading articles in uhh, I will start shooting in RAW from now on.

Thanks Linda. I will remember this when taking photos in the future.

These are beautiful photos, Bill, but, as whitewolfowner said, the color saturation is too deep. I only shoot with a point and shoot, so I'm not much help to you.
