Hi Harvey,

I got myself a set of Moody drivers similar to these: http://www.amazon.com/Moody-Tools-Driver-Pollicis-58-0319/dp/B002R8E3S8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1485309944&sr=8-4&keywords=Moody+JIS+screwdrivers . Mine are sizes 000,00,0, #1 JIS.

They are not the cheapest, but they work really well, and many lenses are JIS, not Phillips format although they look similar. Just need to get the right sizes.

Here's an example: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-246186-1.html

Hope the weather is being kind enough to you.

Good luck

I always buy machinist's tools from MSC Industrial. UHH members have already mentioned that the screws could be the Torx head type. Look at the heads closely, maybe with a magnifying glass.

Very helpful, but if they are JIS standard, JIS drivers work a lot better than Phillips 'cross head' drivers do. The screws are frequently tight, and it is possible to strip them with a Phillips driver, which is generally bad news.

Tamron lenses have the JIS type screw then. I'll have to take a look at my Tamron 45mm.

Check the ones that are made for eyeglasses, they should be small enough!

Sears or harbor freight.

JIS screwdrivers are available from sizes 000 to 0 (very small, precision-type screwdrivers for electronics) to 1 and 2

Most drug chains carry small plastic kits for repairing eye-glasses. The kit has several small screws and a screw driver that fits very small screws. Might work for you, good luck.

They are a plus sign (+) and quite thin - no center space like a philips - I have tried glass repair kits an ones from the kits you buy in hardware/auto parts store all do not fit right.
