Anchor Chain

The USS Wisconsin, WWII era Battleship, is now serving as a museum at the Norfolk Harbor. This is a section of the anchor chain that was used to steady the ship when not tied up at a dock. To say that the lnks are huge is like saying Dolly Parton wears skin-tight leather pants, they are huge. I took this shot on a visit with a bunch of Corvetters a few years ago. I lived in Va Beach for several years before moving to NC, and spent several hours observing the movement of the Connie to its final berth. What a sight. I hpe all Hoggers enjoy this pic.

Got a look at the Enterprise anchor room at Mayport. I was fourteen and the links were as big as I was!
