I rented this lens, put it on my Panasonic GX8, and took it with me to the golf course, it was cloudy and late afternoon. I didn't expect to see this bird and quickly grabbed the camera and began shooting. The battery died after the third photo. My bad, but the lens, the IS of which complements the in-body stabilization is amazing, especially given how haphazard my technique was.

Indeed. We are going to the Galápagos Islands in two weeks. I'll probably rent it again or suck it up and buy it. With long lenses the double IS is really helpful.
