Took the Trip 35 to a wedding and this is what happened.

I recently went to Missouri to attend my step son's wedding. I took my two quietest cameras for obvious reasons. One of them was my Leica M6 and the other one was my Olympus Trip 35.

I shot 80% of the images with the trip, I just love shooting with it!

Here are a couple from the reception, I can't wait to get into the darkroom to print a few of these.

#1: Mother-son dance.

#2: Watching some of the dancing through the window.

#3: My two step son's clowning around for the camera. The groom is on the right.

Thanks mgyur and 14kphotog!

I had quite a few blurry ones due to my lame zone focusing skills and the 1/40 sec shutter speed but i knew that going in.

Used to be that when I went to a relative's or friend's wedding I would take my camera to take some pictures of the event. Gave that up a long time ago because I finally realized that nobody cares about your pictures. And I'm the one who cares the least about having photos of somebody else's wedding. Now I just go to the wedding and eat, drink, have a good time and leave the photography to the professional they hire.

Well, to each his own. My wife wants pictures of course, the bridge and groom appreciated a few of them. I mainly took it to document a time that won't ever be repeated.

In fact, the reason I own a camera at all is because I want to have a box of physical pictures to sit around and look at just like we did when I was little. We'd sit around the kitchen table and my mom would bring out the shoeboxes and albums and we'd pass the pictures around and marvel at times gone past and those who were important to our family.

Rpavich, I really admire the tone of these images! What brand of film were you shooting? In this group, I particularly like #1 and #2 - the first one for its story-telling significance and the second one for the way you have framed the scene and for the beautiful setting festooned with lights. A great job done purely for the love of it.

Thanks for the kind words!

These were all Tri-X @ISO400 dev'd in D-76 1:1

After the wedding i got a tape measure out and boned up on my focusing distances and subsequent rolls came out with much better focusing.
The trip is a zone focusing camera.

Very good. I don't use the old technology too often any more, but I like it when it is used.
