It's a rather silly camera that let you shoot film but view video only. You shoot Color Negative film stock. Send it to Kodak they scan it into digital movies file and send the negative and let you download the movies file.

It shoots film and not video!! And you view the film, but also have the option of having it on disk as well. But it is a rather very low quality camera! If they are trying to make Super 8 interesting again to people, they should have made a better camera, I think this one is a shot in the dark for Kodak!

right now kodak only have negative film stock. How do you view the negative film? it may not even fit your 8mm projector. Kodak doesn't sell one.

Sure it will fit an 8mm projector, it is a standard size, anything else would be a new format!!

I guess you people will try anything. I gave up film in favor of digital many years ago and I don't look back.
Why mess with film when there are all sorts of digital cameras that will blow away the poor quality you get with film.
I can remember shooting with professional movie cameras with 400 ft magazines, and the quality of the movies could n ever match up with a modern digital.

I think Kodak missed the boat when they held off so long to jump on the new band wagon. Film is dead. I know there are some that still hold on. But it will never come back too what it once was. I sold my two medium format cameras as soon as I could. I only got $400. each for them, but now I see the same cameras on Ebay selling for $90. My 8mm movie camera and projector sits on a shelf in the basement. I have a collection of old cameras; They will be stored with them.

.....I guess you mean the quality of digital will never match up to the quality of film. Film beats digital hands down (in all formats)! And you can't beat the ease of using movie cameras compared to their digital counterparts either!

Sorry. I went to digital because my pictures are a whole lot sharper and when I blow them up to 16x20 and I don't get the grain. Only when I was shooting 4x5 did my film pictures match my digital pictures. Also, try to get 800 pictures with film in one outing. You'd have to carry 23 rolls ofr film with you. With 4x5 that means 400 holders.

I did shoot 400-500 pictures in one outing with film a many times, never had a problem doing so! But you're right, it is nice to be able to keep shooting and it costs nothing!
