Well this is what you might call an odd ball image.

The camera was a pentax k5 the lens was an enlarger lens an 80mm PZO janpol color enlarger lens f5.6 to f16 with built in color filters I have a helicoid coming in the post for it but in the mean time i used a panagor macro converter to allow me to focus (i even get to infinity with it which by all accounts it shouldn't do) However the registration distance for the lens seems to be around 68mm about 22mm more than the camera.

The negative about using the panagor is 3 stops loss of light.

Anyway Hasselblad have free development software which will open non Hasselblad Raw files on the Mac.
They do limit the functionality e.g no shadow and highlight adjustments and other adjustments I would have in Lightroom.

So this is a 6400 iso image taken with an enlarger lens and processed with Phocus. I don't think I even got focus confirmation due to the macro converter eating the light. Works out to about 12EV I think this lens shows promise, what do you think?

I guess I don't understand the purpose of this exercise. Is this a "fun thing" {which is a common motivation for me}, or is there something special at work here?

Bit of a fun thing, and there seems to be a look to the images from this kind of lens. I may be imagining it but it looks like an analog image produced by an enlarger. Perhaps because it was how so many images were made projected through an enlarger lens on to photographic paper.

I think my helicoid should be here on thursday.

I also should have this lens in the next week or two, I really like the look of the sample shots on this page

I think this is designed for medium format which might give me a chance to use it with a tilt shift macro bellows.
