It doesn't look too wild here because of the inordinately low water levels when I took this photo. The Wild River is a tributary of the Androscoggin River which you can just make out just above the bridge. Photo #2 is a photo of the Wild River as it flows along route 113 about 10 or so miles from where you see it in photo #1; this photo was taken a week after photo #1. The Google Earth image shows an overhead view of the area in photo #1; the arrow indicates the angle at which I shot the photo +-. Route 113 is barely a two lane road and is not plowed in the winter.

Once again I was in too much of a hurry; notice the line in the upper right hand part of photo #1 where I sloppily cloned out part of the image and the dust spots to the left of that. I have subsequently rectified these errors, but I kick myself that they happened at all. I know I have to clean my camera.
