This is the lid to a tooled leather box that I made about 40 years ago.
Beautiful. 40 years ago.....what was the "medicinal" influence?

No medicinal influence, I had a custom leather shop in downtown Tacoma when I was in my mid 20s and spent hours every day tooling designs in belts, purses, wallets etc. I made many pairs of sandals when I had that shop also. I bought the equipment from a shoe repair shop that had a fire and had closed. All the equipment was undamaged and worked well.
After I gave up on the shop I began making jewelry in gold and silver and selling the work at art and craft shows.
Thanks, I laid the top of the box on a slab of multi-colored shale, snapped the shot and cropped it and saturated the colors quite a bit in a free photo editing site.
Fine detail, excellent craftsmanship.
Good photograph of your work.
Thank you for sharing.

If you can find the time maybe you should add this to the other works you do. great talent should be used when possible. thanks for posting this. I liked it a lot.
Thank you all so much. Handcrafting in any medium is very satisfying but I never had much luck when it came to pottery. Ever time I tried to "throw a pot" it ended up on the floor or on me !
Beautiful, ShutterBoy! You are talented!
