I think I'll cool my heels for a year or so.
The 4/3rd consortium has always held that the 4/3rd size sensor IS IN FACT the full frame sensor for the 4/3 system. Not sure about the logic, but they have stated that stance since 4/3 came into existence.
Leica was intended to be one of the original partners in the enterprise but held out at the initial offering. A couple of other mfrs considered 4/3 but I can't recall who they were.
Seriously doubt we will ever see the day when the currently measured 4/3 sensor is not the "full frame" sensor for 4/3. Not gonna happen????

Thanks for a very interesting take on the 4/3 approach. With Oly's intro of this new high-end micro 4/3 camera, I believe they have achieved much in the way of competitiveness with the run-of-the-mill aps/c and some FF units. I am impressed with my early takes with this camera, and I own stuff in all the formats. I just think that what Oly has done with this one, it sorta blows my mind to contemplate what they might put on the mkt with a FF sensor. Thanks again fot your input.
