I am a retired Army vet, 1964-1968, former civil servant in secure telecom with the Dept. of Defense and the United States Marshals Service at HQ in Virginia. Spoke telephonically with the infamous traitor, The Falcon, who sold classified info to the enemy. The movie, The Falcon and the Snowman starred Tim Hutton as the Falcon, son of an FBI agent. While serving at Camp Drake, Japan, bought my first good lens, a Canon 200mm. Favorite company, Canon and Olympus. Plan to be buried with my half-frame 35mm cameras. Best format ever. Started back in the 8mm era, shot 110, 120, 35mm film, half-frame 35mm, APS, digital
back when the megapixels, albeit small, produced excellent photos. Still have several excellent Olympus digitals that use SmartMedia memory, and a couple of
xD adapters, which allow them to be used in the machines at WalMart, drugstores, etc. Over the years, collected/used many different cameras from Canon, Minolta, Olympus, Pentax, Kodak, Fuji, Yashica (bought a new Yashica 635 back in seventies; it is now selling, used, for triple its original cost. A regular library visitor, found a cache of back issues of defunct Modern Photography mag at Penn State/Pattee Library (3rd floor). Once shot a family wedding and processed film same night. Basement had an enlarger, a Pako drum dryer, an A.B. Dick 360 offset press, cold type, rubber stamp press, Kelsey hand press. Prefer Patterson reels over clumsy Kindermanns. Prefer black and white for film. Recently acquired a B22 enlarger. May try Unicolor at some point. Holga is a fascinating invention. Had a cover photo published in one of early issues of Shutterbug Ads, in days of Glenn Patch. Former racetrack-aholic, was present at Penn National Race Track on a cold night in December. I was in the paddock area as number six, the winner, was unsaddled. No sooner had the trainer removed the saddle, the horse collapsed and died! I shot a few frames with my Ansco 1/2 frame of the deceased winner. The enlargements were great.
I am preparing a list of my excess items that I wish to liquidate for cash/trade. Will include digital, 35mm film bodies, 120, and collectibles, etc.
