In my first post on Analogue is alive and well I inadvertently mislead a few people. At the end of the post was a quote from Tim Clinch. I am not Tim Clinch, although I wouldn't mind being a regular contributor to Black + White Photography. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

On a different note: How many photographers does it take to change a light-bulb?

ANS: Five, one to change the light-bulb and four to say, "Well heck, I could have done that."

I couldn't have changed the light bulb.

Every Air Force Base I was stationed at had a very nice darkroom. We paid 50 cents an hour and only had to bring our own paper. I do miss shooting with Tri-x and Ilford

Yep. When I was stationed in DaNang (Army), we had a big darkroom that the PIO guys used, and they would let me work there. The only problem we had was that occasionally the local workers would sweep the darkroom floor while we had Ektachrome hanging up to dry... we couldn't buy Tri-X at the PX, so I had my family mail packs to me.

Also had family send Tri-x. I was at Da Nang in 72. 432csg . Later stationed at Udorn RTAB, had a great darkroom there.

Thank you for your service.

Isn't it great that you can still get both?

Yes, I love black and white film. Perhaps it's just me, but I cannot seem to get the same results with digital.

It is not you. Film has a look that digital cannot duplicate. Pixels are not grain.

What you said is what the OP specifically asked for not to be posted, but you had have your gas!

Here's what the OP said:

"If you are a film hater, or think that film is out of fashion, or you just don't like the idea of film, then I would suggest to you that you avoid reading, or responding to, any future posts under the heading Analogue Photography is Alive and Well."

I'll ask the OP to please forgive me one last intrusion into the thread. I did not admit to being any of the things the OP specified as criteria for bypassing his thread because I am none of those things, nor did I express anything negative toward or about him, his intentions, or anyone else. I didn't comment just to criticize or to be a pain in the derriere but rather to permit the OP to consider my observations if he chose to do so. Neither did I make any effort to stop what the OP said he was going to do nor did I criticize him for his good intentions. You seem to have "heard" things that weren't said. Nothing I said was directed at anyone in a critical manner and do not see any reason why it would bother you. It certainly wasn't shared simply for the purpose of expelling gas.
