I am looking to purchase the Nikon 35mm dx 1.8g lens, to use with my Nikon D3300 DSLR, I want advice and opinions from my fellow UHH's as to where I might find the best deal, including lowest Price, quality of product, warranty, reputation, reviews, etc. I have window shopped at many of the online stores, saw many prices, reviews, positive and negative opinions, just want to get the best quality with a very reasonable price. So, before I buy, here I am asking for your advice and opinions.

Thank you in advance for your UHH replies.

Not certain there is one best: some possibilities (non-exhaustive list) include, Amazon, B&H, Adorama, Cameta Camera and many other authorized Nikon merchants.

I have been ordering almost everything from B&H Photo for about 12 years and am 100% satisfied. They honor their return policy. They have fixed the couple of issues I have had with an order. There are 2 people on here that work at BnH who can help you with any issues you might have.

My first thought is to look for a refurbished one on the Nikon, USA website. Also, I always check out Amazon, eBay, and KEH. There are also other websites to check out. However, I make sure the camera/lens is meant for the US market so that, should there be a problem, Nikon will help me!

I buy a lot of my lenses from Amazon (there is always a huge choice) and always buy the "fulfilled by Amazon" products. Whilst these are not the cheapest option (although they are only a little more expensive than the others) the Amazon customer service is second to none. If there are any problems with delivery it is quickly sorted via Amazon chat. If there is a problem with the product Amazon takes it back (via its free returns service) and will replace or refund quickly, efficiently and with no questions asked. Amazon is often my go to store for most of my photography equipment purchases.

Since you mentioned lowest price, many prices and very reasonable price in two sentences, let's start with........price.

Nikon and other importers specify the lowest advertised price authorized dealers can offer. If you see a significantly lower price the lens is probably gray market with questionable if any warranty and Nikon will not repair it under any circumstances. Similar for refurbished, and prices will not vary much from authorized reputable dealers. A few have already been mentioned.

My first thought would be to buy from a local dealer if you have one. Nikon's prices are fixed anyway. Maybe you might have to pay more in taxes, but how are your local potholes going to be fixed if people don't pay taxes. Support your local dealer if you can.
