Who is the seller? That makes all the difference. Ah, I see. It's Amazon itself. Traditionally, "Refurbished" indicates that the job was done by Nikon, but that's not a law. "Factory Refurbished" is good to see. With Amazon, returns are easy, and they would pay the shipping cost. "Certified Refurbished," means that Amazon is responsible for the refurbishing. As I said, they are good with returns.

Interesting. I just did a search on their site, and they didn't have a refurbished D7200. They have lots of them, though.

I recently purchased a factory reconditioned D7100 from Cameta, they're service was excellent.
I had to return it (it was draining the battery in just hours). they're communication was excellent.
I received the replacement in 6 days. this one had only 66 actuations on it. Now everything is great!

Before you purchase, check the Nikon site and B&H Photo for refurbished. You will get better customer service from either of these sites than you will from Amazon, in my opinion. Also Adorama and KEH have great reputations from people on this site.

Hi Royce. I have to agree. I bought a refurbished d7200 body from Cameta camera. I had it in a few days and they put a one year warranty on the body. they were very good and answered all my questions. I am pleased with the camera and have (knock on wood) no issues what so ever. Good luck with what ever you do.

I was looking at a D500 on one of the larger store sites, I think Adorama or Cameta and at the bottom of the add it said "may be certified by third part". I was wondering if that means a third party also refurbished it as well. As mentioned above Nikon has the D7200 for $699 and D500 for $1499.

If you can get it for the same price from Nikon and the warranty is the same, go with Nikon. Can't do much better than going to the source. I also just verified that Nikon has it on sale for 699.99.
