The last two times that I have shot in raw and JPEC, my RAW pictures have downloaded with a magenta color on them. The JPECs are fine. Can anyone tell me why this is occurring?

I am using an Ultra PLUS 16gb SanDisk memory card. The camera that I am using is a Canon 7D MKII.

Any help on why this is occurring is greatly appreciated.

Looks like your software does not support the raw format from your camera. What software are you using? I had this problem when I used Raw Therapee and tried to open my Canon 5D Mark IV CR2 files.

I use photoshop elements 15. However, I do download in Picasa and Photoshop Elements 13 as well. This is happening in all 3 programs.

The white balance is likely doing that. Try changing the white balance to daylight.

Your White Balance appears to be for fluorescent light.

My white balance is set to automatic. I since have opened the pictures in the Canon software and they are fine. No magenta color at all.

Yes, it is definitely not your White balance, it doesn't look like anything like that. Maybe your card is acting up, becoming corrupt, or something of that sort (I'm lost too here). I never less would try using a different card and see if the same thing happens again. Sorry, I'm not much help!

Its definitely the raw processor. I've had similar results in various software when the raw images were not fully supported. Have you applied any raw updates to Elements 13? Not sure why you're having a problem with Elements 15 though. I'm guessing, for what ever reason, that Elements 15 is using the wrong version of Camera RAW. The latest version of Camera Raw , which I just downloaded, is 9.8. When you open Camera RAW it will indicate what version it is in the upper left hand corner. Which version are you using?

Thank you. This has happened on two different types of cards. I called Canon and they told me that it was a software problem. Piscasa and PSE15 this happens in. The Canon software it does not.

Did you check the version of Camera Raw you are using in both versions of Elements?

Didn't you say you opened raw files in Elements? When you open a raw file in Elements the windows that opens is Camera raw. If you are not dong that, what you are doing? How do you open your raw files?

Yes, I do open my RAW filles in Elements. The files are opened using camera RAW. However, I cannot see anyway to see what version that i am using.

In the past I used to use a purple filter, (Cokin), that gave me just about the same effect as you show.

Just a guess but try re-setting the camera back to original specs.
