Despite digital photography's almost limitless creative possibilities and ongoing technological improvements, I'm chucking it all, selling all the digital gear, to return to film; I'm curious if there are any fellow travelers out there.

Nope. I'm also not giving up my smartphone for a rotary phone.

I hear rumors Kodak is also considering bringing back Kodachrome.
That will be very interesting.
Then at that point it would be nice to have a very good 35mm dedicated film/slide scanner. Yes I know why not just shoot digital and yes it costs more etc. But I found I was much more careful and selective when using film and knowing each shot actually had a monetary value besides aesthetic.

I would use my EOS 650 more and all my current lenses will work just fine with it.

I'll trade my so called smart phone for an old phone made by Western Electric.

Another advantage of Kodachrome- store in a cool, dark place that is dry and they'll be the same 100 years from now. With digital you have to copy your photos every time a new storage media is developed! I can think of five or six major ones in the last 16 years.

Selling ALL your digital gear to re-focus on analog film imagery may not be as satisfying as you suppose. You might considering holding back at least one beloved digital camera to tide you over those inevitable cravings. Good luck!

I would be extremely surprised if they did that.
As I already noted in another thread

processing Kodachrome is a serious pain.

Aside from the fact that you can still buy drives for media as obsolete as the 1.44 floppy, transferring digital files to newer media is hardly a big deal. Copy, paste, and then go play with your camera, drink a beer, yell at the neighbor's kids, whatever, while the computer does all the work. Any time spent is more then made up for by the fact that when you want to locate a particular photo among 20-30,000 candidates you don't have to dig through stacks of boxes and albums.

I would never chuck digital-- there are too many things that digital can do that film cannot. However I still do film and have several film cameras that I use-- both 120 and 35mm

I do both! I see no reason why I must restrict myself to only one medium.

What you are doing is ridiculous. Have you sold you car and buying a horse and buggy to?

Thanks. You're probably right, but at the moment I've stopped taking picture altogether because I dread the pp. The idea of shooting a couple/few rolls and sending them off appeals.
