I assume those are all "steam" engines except for the green one. I'm guessing, he runs them on air instead of steam.
I see a spark plug on the green one (maybe, a glow plug).
The tall one in the back and the one on the right appear to be reversible (can run forwards or backwards).
If you see him again, tell him he has a fan in Texas!

All correct...he showed me how they ran using the compressed air. The one in front he made while he was in high school. Owned and rebuilt the local river dam here in Camden, Maine. Unfortunately he passed away. He left ownership of the dam to the town which provides electricity for the public works department. appreciate your interest.
