I couldn't help myself, here's an image of Kay Jay when we were in Maui.
Kay Jay at Big Beach
I am glad you are weak... and could not stop yourself from posting this image..... What a lovely model! .... and a great capture!
Allow me to ask.... Is this an uncropped image or was it cropped? If it is full frame, where would your focus point have fallen, as her eyes are outside of most camera AFpoint clusters..
Thanks...and again... great shot!

Wonderful photo, and a really great study in composition. It moves me to comment.
First of all we have a gorgeous woman as the main subject. She has a lovely face, a well-proportioned body, natural breasts and beautifully smooth (and tat-free) skin. Her pose is classic, and her expression is alluring. She is positioned against an amazingly complex -- yet at the same time simple -- background. Scanning from upper-left to lower-right the serenity of the soft focus on the more distant brown rocks is suddenly interrupted by a black line and the sharp granularity of the grey rock, only to be the calmed again by the smoothness of Kay Jay's skin. The entire scene is supported by creamy sand that forms a stable base for the photo. The earthy colours are very soothing.
The sight lines and rule of thirds (R3) are amazing. First off we have a strong diagonal from bottom-left-front to upper-right-back created by her body. This makes a wonderful "X" with the sight line I referred to above. Scanning the image more slowly now from left-to-right -- in natural reading direction -- the viewer's eye is drawn deep into the scene, not only from bottom to top but also foreground to background, by the ascending diagonal line of her left leg from the toes to her knee, where we pause briefly at the lower/left R3 intersection. Her right knee then kicks the view up a bit where the profile of the grey rock draws the eye deeper into the scene and up and around to her right elbow which lies on the right R3 vertical. The line of her right forearm then brings the eye down to the right to wrap completely over this fantastic beauty, and her left arm returns us to the foreground and base of the photo.
I think this photo is textbook perfect. Well done!!!

Hi John,
This image was taken with a Nikon full frame D4s using a Nikon 28mm-300mm lens. The focus was on her eyes using Nikon's group focusing system. The lens is wide enough so that I can place the focus on Kay Jay's face.
Once I had the image, I edited it in Lightroom, cropping the areas that I felt didn't add to the image. I see to many images that have backgrounds that don't add to the image or is to distracting.
I'm not sure what model camera you have, you should check and see if you have group focusing. If not I would use spot focusing.
I hope that answers your questions, if not send me a message.

Rob, . . 1st I agree with JohnFrim's assessment ... The difference between he and I is that he obviously knows why this is a good image ... I only saw a good image. . 👉👉👉 more homework for me!
Regarding the cluster system .. The Canon 6D will use "All - 11" focus points (and I stress the "11" here) together, bouncing about with each depression and re-depression of the shutter button.... Or, it will select one of the "11" with only the center being a cross type. I end up croping away a lot of data, but remind myself of the savings I realized by selecting the 6D over the 5DMk3
Thanks for the info and posting such a "textbook perfect" photo.

John,
I have to agree with you about Johnfirm, I think he's a couple of levels above me when it comes to knowing why an images is good. I'm just lucky to have girls asking me to take pictures of them. I'm no expert when it comes to Canon cameras. I know lots of my friends use them and love them. Sorry I can't help you with the 11 point focusing issue.
Let me know if there's anything you would like to see posted here.

Haha.... Man, I just want to be the guy that sets up & holds the light stands for your model shoots!
Great work!

No one is perfect... so... well... just guessing here... but... maybe she has a less-than-perfect toe!!!
Actually I don't mind the crop, but I may change my mind if the entire foot were included.
