I bet Dell just loves the new Mac. It's giving them the chance to sell even more of their nice laptops.

Ain't that the truth.
As a converted Mac user and lover of the systems I have to say...

Tim Cook, your time has passed, resign while Apple still is in business.

If I was in the the market for a new laptop MacBook would not be on my list.

A little snarky, but they deserve it. I was thinking of replacing my aging MBP, and if I do it will have to be for the slightly updated version that was just before this one. But...
I do notice how so many pc platform laptops try real hard to look like mac laptops, down to details like the brushed aluminum look but in plastic, & details in beveling, and so on.

Most Mac users would agree with this. The sales of used 2015 Mac Book Pros has gone up since the release of the new model. Apple is putting so much crap into their systems they are no longer functional- this goes for their IOS and I phone too.

Apple has always charged three times the price for half the power and capability. It used to be "easier to learn" and "malware need not apply" but these things have drastically changed. More writers of malware are targeting Macs (They benefited in the past from such a small market presence. 3%, but now 8-10%.) And Windows 10 has become super easy to learn and more stable than Mac OS, while retaining the open architecture that Apple has avoided.

I just bought a great Dell 13 inch to put in my camera case. With metal--not plastic--case, SSD, I7, 8gb, 3 usb 3.0, etc. for $700. Loaded with Affinity and PS, I'm ready for my trip to Mexico.

And they have priced themselves into the stratosphere, most mere mortals can't afford them. I prefer HP branded laptops. I always buy one or two year old models and since I use Linux what OS is a non issue as I wipe them completely anyway. I have Win 7 Ultimate on a remote HDD and if I need I can boot the that OS and run just as if the PC had Windows installed.

The point is that Steve Jobs is missing.

Windows 10 ? I have Win 10 on a desktop and a Laptop, windows Vista on another Laptop, and Windows 7 on the 4th computer (laptop). I detest W 10 and much prefer the older versions of Windows as easier to find or delete/modify programs even though the older Windows are a touch slower.

News has it that Tim's pay was cut, due to poor performance.
