Store Charged Batteries

I use the tiny batteries for my Sony a6300. It is a minor annoyance that I get 300 shots or less for each one. But how to quickly know which of my five batteries is fully charged? Throw them in the bag and you can't tell. But also, unlikely but possible to have one short out if it is touching other accessories.

Solution. I bought a hundred 2x3 inch ziplock bags on eBay for about $2.50 and they paid the postage(Slightly bigger bags are available to fit bigger batteries.). Now after charging I just put the battery into a bag. When I need a fresh battery, I can easily tear off the top of the bag and get the battery. Now I know that the ones not in a bag need to be recharged.

A hundred bags should last me a few months. A thousand bags would only be <$10.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. Got several suggestions here - most of which included rubber bands. I got this little wallet on Amazon instead.

The pockets are a perfect fit for the Sony A6XXX batteries - holds 4 batteries plus SD cards and the USB charging cord. I put the charged ones in with the connector end down and the discharged ones up. I can always find a nook in my bag to stuff it into.

Or re-use the bags as I do. Battery contacts facing the ziplock-charged. Battery contacts facing away from the ziplock-discharged. And that way they are all kept dry no matter what the weather conditions. But I do use slightly heavier plastic bags, mine are 4 mil and can be reused MANY times. Just make sure your bags are small enough that the battery cannot be turned around inside it and you will always know which are good and which are not. Smaller bags might be needed for thos small Sony batteries but the 2x3 size is perfect for Nikon and Canon batteries.

I charge them all, store them, and use them. I rotate them when one is discharged or every month. Almost 3 years and no failures, except for Wasabi batteries which were crap.

Zip-Lock sandwich bags work, too. I use them for storing little things.

My son printed these with his 3D printer.

I marked the labels "A" and "B", my Canon battery didn't need a "C" use in rotation, keep the plastic cover on when not in use.

Easy. Using a black felt pen I mark each battery with a number, starting with one. I always use the next number regardless if I've already charged the previous numbers, and, I always recharge them when I get home, if needed.

This! Easy, keeps usage even between batteries. Kind of a 'no duh' solution. I have five batteries and there's never a question of which is next.

Get a "Sharpie" Silver or gold permanent marker and number them.
