So what is upgraded?
Hope they didn't delete sensor cleaning as they did with the D3400.
They seem fascinated with snapbridge. Who cares?
Two lens kit with AF-P lenses. Are they new?

Yes, they started a few months ago. They are cheaper than AF-S lenses and Nikon offers non-VR versions of each for $50 less. You need to ensure what the kit contains.
They use a pulse motor (the P) which is supposed to focus faster and more accurately.
I haven't seen a quality comparison.
Older cameras (e.g. D5300) can use them but you need to download a recent firmware upgrade to do so.

Body-only for $699, with the AF-P 18-55mm lens for $799.
I just did a compare on the Nikon site, it almost looks like a dummed down 5500. What did I miss? I am thinking of upgrading my 3200 but for $750 or so you can get a refurbished 7200 which still looks like a better camera than the 5600.

SnapBridge is a joke just got it on my new B700 and it rarely works and I really can't see the use for it.

Looks like Nikon is tweaking their lower end DSLRs. I note that the command wheel is on top of the body rather than being lower in the body, right hand side. Snapbridge, NFC, don't see any other obvious differences. None matter so far.

This camera is aimed at younger buyers who LOVE sharing on their phones. Nikon and others are trying to excite younger buyers, if a company cannot get younger buyers, they will soon be out of business. ie. Buick did this for years now when they started the ad campaign, "It's not your fathers Buick" and now it's, "it's a Buick".
I don't see anything on the D5600 that I would call an improvement over my 5500.

The infamous 18-55mm kit lens. The never die lens. Inexpensive to manufacture. Newer versions are better now.

That firmware was also necessary, for the now discontinued D3300. To accept the P lens.

Hardly any change from the D5500.
I'm surprised they stuck with 24.2 MegaPixels.
I have the D5300 with 24.2. I think the first 24.2 was the 5200.
Not with an upgrade even if I had the $$$$

You can buy a refurbished D7200, body only, from B&H for $789 with a 90 day warranty. Why pay more for the new D5600 with a warranty only 9 months longer.
