Windows 10 Question

I have noticed an wondered WHY I have under my Name-under This PC-and under Libraries-the folders Documents,Downloads,Music,Pictures,Videos.
To me this is just a waste of space on the HD, am I missing something here?
Having these in 3 locations is STUPID in my humble opionion. If memory serves me right, Windows 7 did not have all this redundancy. What possible reason can Windows have for doing this? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so. Anyone care to give a Windows 10 user a reason other than the redundancy of Win 10 I attached a screen shot of what I mean. Thanks for any info and any way I can get rid of all this extra junk.

They are not separate individual folders, they are like shortcuts to the same place where you can access your Docs, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos. This just gives you 3 options of finding them.

They are confusing to the real computer afficianodo who came up through the ranks from being able to program in DOS just as they are to the newbie. Yes DOS isstill there it is just now hidden inside of Windows. They give you a lot of options to find things that they just confuse the newbies in an effort to please themselves at Microsoft and make themselves look important when you call for tech services you may not need.

Mine, is labelled "Quick Access" not as my name. It may depend on how you set up your Windows 10 upon first use. Also the Home and Professional versions seem to be slightly different. Mine on a New PC is Win 10 (Home; not really labelled as anything), and my wife's is A Higher Level Up Grade Win 10 Professional. I do notice slight differences. And that system naming seems to be one. On mine my Name does appear but not where you noted, higher above. My guess is the quick access links are fully Indexed for faster access. I also remember some odd redundancy in Windows Vista but that was the least of its's problems. But personally I just ignore those links and use the "true" one under This PC. Also I open files via links in my applications from prior use. I agree the second set seems silly. And you do seem to have triplicate listings of Short Cut Links. I seem to only have them in duplicate. But I'm not a "speed freak" and don't mind waiting a half second longer for un-indexed files to open. See my screen shot below.

I know what you mean about all that extra stuff that Windows does for you. I try to delete or rename as much as possible. As Jeep Daddy said, they're not actually duplicated files, though. I wish it was easier to change the Username, for example. I took this computer back from my son after I built him a new one, and it was difficult getting rid of his name as User. Now there isn't anyone listed as User, which is fine with me.

There is a way of doing that, but I don't remember how. I think Dell walked me through it.

Thanks Jeep Daddy: I had the suspicion that was the case, now I know for sure
I will be doing what jerry talked about. Delete where possible or Rename. This is gonna be fun. As I use Win 7 Backup in Win 10 it backs up the Libraries and some additional stuff as well as let you make a restore disk and system backup

Thanks to all that helped Many thanks!! Now I know I am gonna save my pennies I am going to the Mac, had windose way tooooo long, going for better.
