I installed Lightroom a week ago and yesterday after doing some editing on a photo I decided to print it using my Canon Pixma pro 100. I was printing from Lightroom. I set the printer to print using A3 paper and I told Lightroom the same. Both time I tried this the printer output was an 8 1/2 X 11 on the A3 paper (13X19). I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't 13x19 Super B paper?
A3 should measure about 11.7x16.5 I believe.

When you select the the print module you will need to first, go to "Page Setup" in the lower right hand corner to define the size of the output page, then use the "Print Settings" box to set paper selection bin and paper type. Then go to the right side menu and select the Layout style you want, Probably "Single Image / Contact Sheet" then go to the Image Settings area and check "Zoom to Fill" and "Rotate to fit". Next go to the Layout area and adjust your margins all to zero for borderless or what ever you want. Then adjust the Cell Size to the size you want. If the margins are all set to 0.00i n then you should be able to select a full page output print. Remember A3 paper is 11.69" x 16.53" and not 13" x19".

Hope this helps,
Good luck,
Jan Mundorff

The Canon says A3+ and shows it to be 13X19. I am confused.

Several UHH members own Canon Pro-100 printers, and discuss problems/solutions on the UHH section Printers and Color Printing Forum at http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-120-1.html
Re-state your question there.

I believe the key is the "+" behind the A3 (A3 Plus). If the paper is 13x19 then use those dimensions for both the page setting and for the photo cell size.

My printer max size is 8-1/2 x 14 so I am very unaware of larger standard sizes. Let me know how you come out.

I have the older Canon Pixma 9000 and use the A3+ to print the full 13x19. Make sure all the settings in your post processing program are set for that size. I sometimes find that I lose setting between sessions of using my program. Also look for an Options setting for your printer and make sure it's also set for 13x19.

Lightroom and Photoshop Elements, both being Adobe programs, probably use the same software. I use PSE14 and the "Print" program asks for the paper and print output sizes several time as you go through the process; make sure that when ever you are ask for a paper and print size the data is what you want or "custom" if the correct paper size is not shown. For some mysterious reason many Canon Printers don't support the 11" x 14" paper size so you have to use the custom size and then enter what you want in the next to last window in the print program.

Hi there, you might want to download Canon's Print Studio Pro and install it as a plugin in LR and Photoshop, then when you want to print you select the photo you want and go to plug ins and use Print Studio Pro. It has many features readily available and really streamlines the print process instead of dealing with the LR settings. Just a thought!

Two things have you saved it as a jpeg or png first, an take out the 8.5 x 11 paper close rear feed than load 13 x 19 from the manuel feed an make sure you pick manuel feed in preview dialog box an in quality an paper . Easier to put a folder on desktop marked print que an than export prints to it as jpeg than hide lr an print from desktop

If you are going to be doing a lot of experimentation, another cost saver you might consider is to go to a local printing shop an purchase some poster paper of the same size with about a 50-60 lb weight. You will will still be wasting ink unless you opt for a lower quality, but at least you won't be burning through your large & expensive photo print paper. Don't let them give you coated paper either, you only need cheap stuff; I've bought it for about $0.15-$0.18 per sheet for 11" x 17" in quantities of 15 - 20 sheets, but they probably have the size you need too. If not get a larger size and cut it to what you need; it's still cheaper than photo paper.

Ditto this. Print Studio Pro is what Canon would tell you to use. They created this plugin to make printing, especially with icc profiled 3rd party paper, easy. If you use Canon paper, printing is especially easy. Just pick the paper and the size of the paper and use the Auto icc setting. Some of Canons paper comes with special instructions like their matt paper. Follow the instructions on the box but use the Print Studio Pro plugin.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. One last question I can not seem to get an answer will the Canon Pixma Pro100 do border-less prints?

Don't know about Canon, but on my Epson printers paper size and print size are two entirely different settings. My guess is that Canon is the same. Specifying the paper size alone will not always produce the print size you want. I suggest you recheck your setting menus carefully. You may have to click on a tab in the menu to get to the setting you want, as with some of Epson's settings.
