I don't know if you are permitted, but if you have any cool pix, please share.

Not really, even though you are always aware of the "situation" as in "down and distance" so you can anticipate the next type of play... for the most part you miss a lot....but you also get a better feeling of the speed and size of the players. You also get to hear sounds that you rarely hear from the stands. I think I will pass on doing these games - long days - worn out - and I can make more money shooting a high school basketball game and be home and in bed before midnight. I have several kids that have come through our high school playing on the Clemson team Although I really didn't think Clemson would win - I wanted to be there just in case.

BTW, the security there was suffocating - IMHO, that was the safest place to be on the planet.

I can say that by shooting the Grand Kids soccer games I mostly relive the game in the pictures. Much different to see things through a lens than to sit and enjoy the action. It's work.
Even if you do get one of the best seats and best views in the house....

True! I am more likely to get home with "so so" pics if I am involved in the game personally....as I find myself watching and consequently missing shots. But, digital is very forgiving. Some of my best captures were accidents....so a lot of luck and cam clicks can bail you out at times.

And digital is inexpensive, doesn't cost much to delete.

You have to pay to delete? What camera do you have?

True, nothing in life is free, but shooting a thousand digital is a lot cheaper than a thousand film.

Most of my good ones are "I hope I got that..." (But God bless the huge cards and delete key)
This year I finally think I have a grasp on my Big Tammy. It has such a tight field of focus I had nightmares of getting good shots. But this year I guess I got the hang of pushing through to grab the shot when the lens found its focus. (Don't hesitate or I got 'Pikturds'.)
And BAM! I found better pictures...
I love this catch. Happy kids. This year we had 3 guest Coaches from Great Britain helping the kids to begin soccer. Our 3 YO G. Daughter (Picture 2) was smitten with them. They were great with the kids.
(I'll only bore you with one... Mason. Well, two I guess... Ava Grace ) (The Doctors couldn't read the Ultrasounds and wanted to terminate her. Technology has surpassed the Doctors ability to understand it. Stupid Doctors!)

But shooting sports is a lot harder than watching them.

U-4/5, 4-5 year olds. Ours is the one with the hair...

Thank You Ed!
I do understand about missing the game when behind the camera.

Nice job, yes it's much hardener than you would think, I've attempted previously with film...by the time it did its little focus thing, the shot was gone. I would end up with maybe 4 rolls of photos and 2-3 decent shots. Of course the decent shots may have been the sideline shots!?!?!?

Sideline shots....
A friend of mine (And co-worker) was an avid LA Raiders Fan. And he loved to shoot the cheerleaders. One day he came into work all excited to show me a shot he got...
It would go in the Boudoir section here. Just a tasty catch of her top provocatively opened during a cheer....
Boys will be boys...

My wife sez the day I stop looking is the day she'll start worrying.

I actually set my mount out today in anticipation of a clear Saturday night. Full moon or not, I plan on being outside!
