Anyone here used Franzis's FOCUS projects 3 professional or the older Focus projects for focus stacking? They have it on sale for $25 right now and is sure beats the price of Zerene Stacker or Helicon software price-wise, but I really don't know if it is any good. Been using Photoshop to date, but would like to get a little more flexibility with my stacking, and I don't know if this is the right way to go.
Great minds travel in the same path ! I have Zerene, price reasonable since I was teaching. I have been pleased with Franzis programs and $25 i not much in todays world. While I have the complete Topaz, I find that Franzis Color, and Jixipix to name a few are a different path... .

I am seeing it at $129.00 from the web site I found. Where is it at $25?
I have both Zerene and Helicon. For my time and money, Zerene is well worth it, if you intend to do a lot of stacking. It is particularly good at providing clean result for hand-held stacks. If they had a trial, I would give it a whirl....
ok, your links worked. Funny, but in my browsings I found different links that charged different amounts. Anyway, I downloaded it, and will give 'er a try when I have some images to stack. Thank you! This should be fun.

That link came to me on an email directly from Franzis. I have purchased other software from them in the past and that probably why I got it.
There is a 'Trial' version available on the link above, and the special price expires in one week.
That's European dating the deal goes off on the 6th of January 2017.
Well, I downloaded the "Trial Version" & I find it to be a very complicated program to use, at least for me. My first stacks were very noisy and over sharpened using their default settings. Plus they have huge watermarks so I won't be able to keep an image, even if I can come up with a good one. There are MANY options that by default are either "on" or "off". The manuals (2 of them) are available as a PDF download and very brief in explaining the program options. I think they assume you have above average abilities with using computer programs, which I do not. I didn't have any trouble with CombineZP or Zerene Stacker but this one is going to take a lot of time to master, at least for me. I'll be interested to hear from other first time users.

I have both Focus Project 3 Pro and Zerene Stacker. Zerene Stacker is simpler and just as good if not better.
