I haven't seen a Black Widow Spider since I was a Kid, so you can only imagine my excitement when we found this one.

I owned a Junk Yard and found lots of them, sometimes in places I didn't want to. Reaching down along an engine block and one pops out about 6 inches from my hand, I have banged up my arms and knuckles many times because of them.. I'm glad you found her, and she didn't find you first, I've seen the effects of a bite when someone else got bit.

I actuall had to climb a ladder to get to her. I'm sure glad that I saw her cause she was under the eave on one of the cabins here at the Church Camp that we run. It's time to call "The Exterminator".

I see these almost every time when i am moving stuff around in the yard, garage or in protected areas. They also love to hide under pieces of timber or plywood. I have become adept at flipping things over before grabbing them bare handed. Leather gloves a must around here when hands only will do the job.

I will most assuredly have keener vision for them now! I am already on high alert for Brown Recluse spiders. We have MANY of them, as well as Scorpions. It's almost like living in Australia, with all these poisonous creatures!
