Lume Cube - Question about use
Dec 26, 2016 11:09:05   #

I have submitted questions to the Lume Cube site and never received an answer. I can't find a copy of the User Manual on their site or via Google.
What I am trying to find out is:
Can the Cube be fired/synced by a camera (Sony NEX or Alpha) as a flash? I can't find any info on the use of the Cube.
What I am trying to accomplish is to use the Cube (ideal size, output, beam spread) as a flash source for photomicrography using a beam splitter. I am in the process of drawing up a diagram of what I am trying to accomplish.
Thanks

As of right now, the Lume Cube doesn't communicate with DSLRs. The Lume Cube can be triggered as a flash with a smartphone via Bluetooth, or as a slave if you set the cube to opto-trigger mode. This mode will make the cube trigger with any existing flash. There is also a strobe mode for other creative uses. Creating a Lume Cube that communicates with a DSLR is a current work in progress. Hope that helps!

Very helpful. The fact that it can be fired as a slave from my cameras will work with what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks!
