It's too bad that a majority of our world won't get it.
I am one of the majority. Could someone please explain. Thanks Terry.

Poor Tesla. He was brilliant, but he never got the credit he deserved. Edison stole his electricity, and Marconi stole his wireless signal.

It would be more appropriate if it had Edison and Westinghouse. They famously argued publicly about whether electricity should be supplied as DC or AC. Edison argued that DC was totally safe, and that AC would kill many people. Westinghouse argued that AC had much less loss in long-distance wiring, and could easily be changed in voltage using transformers. When the electric chair was proposed as a means of execution, Edison proclaimed that of the process of killing someone with AC electricity it should be called: "They were Westinghoused".

He has a car named after him.
Why is it too bad, Terrymac and jerryc41, that the majority of the world doesn't get it? Because they don't meet your standards of what should be known by everyone? Do you two watch Jeopardy and know all the answers?
Well, edison was a bit of a s*** who ripped off Tesla. He employed Tesla, promising a hefty bonus for solving some technical problems. When Tesla delivered the solution, edison reneged on the deal.
And yes, sb, Westinghouse was the 'power' behind the a.c. transmission system but if I remember correctly, he employed Tesla as a consultant after edison's nasty little cheating trick.
half the people in the US won't get it
