Does anyone know the trigger voltage for a honeywell strobonar 600 flash? I have one and would like to use it with my Nikon D3300 DSLR using the Nikon AS 15 to synch the camera and flash. Has anyone tried this, and if so, did it work?

It's been reported that the trigger voltage is over 100 volts. No idea about the Nikon gear you mention as I'm a Canon shooter.

Wein makes a device which fits your hot shoe, and it protects the circuitry of your camera. All the older handle mount Strobonars have fairly high trigger voltages. I wouldn't risk any modern camera with them.

I used a lot of old flashes on my DSLR but definitely not a Strobonar. I am quite sure the trigger voltage on the Strobonar is something like 300V or more.

My dad used to use one and I remember him being electrically shocked violently prior to having it repaired.

oh, mama! of all the strobes to ever think of using, the honeywell is definately not it, on any camera or digital imaging device. built by satan, i think never had anything but problems. but my good friend and technician Erv Hill, swore by his. i merely swore at mine!
