I recently weaned myself away from the mouse and converted to pen for editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. I just wanted to give a thumbs up to Wacom and say it is more accurate and really speeds up the work flow for me. It takes a day or two to get used to it but once you learn the mouse will seem antiquated. I have the medium tablet but the small may be a good alternative for less hand action. Have you considered a tablet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weeINJl77r4

Invaluable tool! I restore old photos and couldn't do that without the pen and pad. Here is a before and after

I have thought about trying the Wacom tablet, but have done no research yet. I heard it was difficult to set up and get working properly. Any truth to that?

I have the medium and really like it for both photo and sketching. I'm using two screens so I can set it up to reduce to total active size on the pad which is better for photo.

I've never had any trouble setting one up. And it didn't take me long to get used to it as well.

I could never master the use of the pen and touch pad of the Wacom so stayed with a mouse. The Wacom was easy to set up. It now sits on a shelf collecting dust.

No.

Do you have any trouble using a pencil?

It becomes second nature after a few days. The most important thing is to toss the mouse. Easy to use if you understand pointing directly vs dragging a mouse to get to a point...

Thanks. I got the Bamboo for my son a few years ago, but he hasn't used it. I should try it.

What is the difference between the medium or small tablet and the bamboo? I think I may treat myself this Christmas I have been waffling since I joined LR PS in Adobe

I got the Intuos Photo a couple of weeks ago and don't plan on going back to the mouse. I really like it for photo editing. It took me a little longer to get use to it as a mouse replacement for other things, but then I had not used a touchpad much before.

Wow! This is really amazing. Nice demo of what a tablet can help with!

I got the same model 3 months ago and can't live without it. There are a few glitches I need to contact Wacom about but they can be worked around which is why I haven't called them yet. I do have one problem with it which I would love to hear from you or others on how they deal with it. When I move a Lightroom slider or Photoshop scrubby slider, when I lift my pen, the value jumps about 5 or so. I end up having to type it in which slows my workflow. Love to hear a solution for this (I know, less coffee!!!!)
