New-bee here; this image was taken on the Nisqually River, just north of McKenna !!
Taken with a converted EOS 5D Mark II to 595nu infrared, processed to the extreme !!
Name of the Photo is Speed Of Light Broken !
Notice the light reflected, in the shadows, off the back of the trees. Only in Infrared
can this happen !! Hope you like it ??

Because I'm unused to IR, I have trouble telling what, if anything, is in direct sunlight, and what is in shadows.

I have a 720nu camera and you just can't get those colors out of that level. Very interesting, makes me want to get another older camera and convert it to the 595nu.

A question from someone who {obviously} knows nothing about IR photography

What does "nu" measure?

Why would an older camera be associated with a lower "nu"??

It actually should be "nm" Nanometer. Some times it is shown a nu. I had my camera switched over to IR by Isaac Szabo, you can find him here with some good explanations on IR:

So very sorry; you are correct, it should be nm, short for Nanometer ..
Also it should be 590nm not 595nm; again sorry for any confusion !!!
I have four cameras converted to infrared ,two 590nm and two 695nm,
all done by Kolari Vision; very good web site for infrared info !!!
Camers are Xsi 590nm, T3i 695, 1Ds Mark II 695nm, and 5D Mark II 590nm,
the 5D Mark II my go to infrared camera !!!

I like it. You should make it available for sale. It looks like it would make a great photo for a book cover or some ad.
