Interesting shot. I still don't understand why a woman would want to stick a pin through it?

Very abstract. Great nipple texture by a creative person

When viewed closeup as this, there's nothing sexy about it. In fact, this texture is like fingernails on a blackboard to my ears. Yes, it's interesting, but it looks like a monster i.e. The Blob!

Hard to believe that it can provide nourishment to a child.

It is interesting, perhaps, but I would prefer it in the context of a little skin....

I have to agree with some of the other negative comments. It's too close and does not have enough perspective for my liking. It has about as much appeal as a macro shot of the back of a knuckle or a finger nail.

Stepping back from my monitor a bit and taking off my glasses I can imagine this being a chunk of spam on a cracker, a very thick hamburger patty before grilling, or a 3 lb chunk of sirloin roast.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but you have done better.

I haven't thought of any of the comments as being negative. I think the comments are interesting. This is simply a different perspective using a macro lens.

Interesting observation. I went to google images and clicked on red raspberry. Except for the brighter color of the raspberry, there really is a close comparison. (I looked, but I couldn't find any raspberries with pins stuck through them).

I like it. I like that I get to make my own interpretation. If I didn't know, I might not guess that it is a nipple. Nipples come in many shapes and change shape during arousal. In fact, doing a study of nipples would be fascinating. Leave the interpretation to the viewer. For many people, the nipple without context is confusing. It doesn't carry the ideas of sexuality or nurturing. It just IS. Keep on this. Of course you could use post processing to make it like the Georgia OKeefe vaginas.

(A couple days ago, I made a comment about something that it looked like a Georgia O'Keefe flower. This sweet but tart elderly lady had never thought of O'Keefe's flowers as anything but flowers. She "demanded" that I explain. LOL. I did. She was totally cool.)

Bring us more nipples.

If I would improve it, I might tone down the skin at the base. Hold it back or even darken it to oblivion. There are also those light spots on the left side--looks like sky color. Get rid of them.

I have a shot of chicken feet I did in a Mexican open market. Nothing but yellow chicken feet with toenails even. Just a tray of raw feet with the cutoff bone. Most people just go "Yuckkkk", but a few get really creative with interpretation. That's what I would do with your nipple photo.

Better, meaning images that have a story to tell, that evoke interest to contemplate, that have complexities of composition or dramatic lighting.
