I saw this technique in Outdoor Photographer so I gave it a try. The execution takes some practice and tweaking - and the lines and color of the subject definitely affects the result when using this technique. I took a few different pictures this way and the possibilities in PP are endless since it can almost be considered abstract.

Btw, tripod recommended but I did this handheld while hiking.

I have tried this as well. There are challenges getting enough movement, but not too much movement. A nice change of pace in our pusuit of unique images.

Agreed. It's a trial and error thing....you just keep shooting and go home and see how they turn out. I guess you could get pretty analytical and record your settings and your movements (distance and speed), but that would probably take the fun out of it. I'd rather just wing it.
Feel free to share what you came up with. I'd like to see.
