Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia with a population of about 100,000. We have a small residential facility for students in the city named 'Magis.' Magis is located about two blocks from the bridge leading into the center of town. Wandered around for about an hour on Monday evening. Tuesday AM was not a great day with miserable light. We returned to LJ midday.
There is a small flower kiosk near Magis that mostly serves people visiting the hospital nearby.

Thanks for commenting. I laughed when I read the comment. Across the pond . . . . and half of Europe as well.

Thank you. It is a lovely town. One of the great things about living here is being able to go out alone at night with camera without anxiety. Very safe on the streets. i'd even go down along the river, something I never would have done at night when I lived in D.C.

Thanks for looking and commenting so generously.
Very interesting photos of such a picturesque city. Nice that you can feel safe going out for photos at night. I would definitely not feel safe doing that in Houston or any other large city in the US.

Thanks for commenting. Ljubljana is as safe as Maribor. The only other city in which I've felt secure on the streets alone at night with camera is Taipei, Taiwan.
Another great series, love them all. If memory serves me right Maribor was once called Marburg under the old Austrian Empire.

I think you are correct. Talk about a country with uncertain borders and government. I think it takes about 20 minutes to get to the border from Maribor. Thanks for the compliment on the photos. Hope to get up there a little more regularly in the coming months.
