A neat shot, Graham! Dynamic and colorful.

Very nifty shot Graham, great use of what I think is zoom blur? Processing choice is really eye catching and works well for this shot. I am glad to see a "master" experiment with different shooting techniques and looks, we sometimes get dinged for playing outside the sandbox, but you give us courage that it's OK!!
Wonderfully effective use of blur. The bright colors and vignette add great impact. Please tell us everything pertinent to the technique. Thanks!

In reply to yourself and Minnie, the only technique involved is seeing something and thinking it might make a picture. I was walking behind the ladies with a manual focus rangefinder camera, putting the camera up to your eye and focussing with a split image viewfinder is almost an impossibility so I didn't bother, I tripped the shutter and that was it. I processed it to give a cinematic or filmic feel to the image, never sure what the correct term is. I added a vignette which accentuated and blended into the shadows of the ladies. So to sum up, the technique also involved lots of camera shake and poor focus

LOL, yes 1/4 second I noted. Thanks Graham!
very neat - dynamic and alive and a wonderful subject in full motion. I like how all has been isolated to the pathway and walkers. Looks like you might have had to jog a little to keep up - LOL

I have that effect on women
That is superb ICM Graham (you didn't have to admit it was uICM!). Just a tip - following women this close can get you arrested!

Definitely interesting effect of combined effects of camera blur and subject blur.
Nice way to exemplify "Progressing and full of purpose"

Love this photo! The colors! The shapes of the legs!! What fun!!!
Not a fan of vignette. In another thread, would love a discussion about the effect.

Hello Edie, I will give my reason for the vignette. I feel it adds a little menace to the picture, as though they were fleeing something sinister. Their shadows seem to be pursuing them from from the dark.
Anyway that's my story
Thanks for commenting Edie.
