I was wondering what kind of a picture you could get by attaching a camera phone to a telescope, so purchased an adapter and mounted my phone to one of my scopes and tried for the moon. Here is what I got. Feel free to check out the download.

Dlmorris,
Nice shots of one of my favorite subjects. The downloads look great.

That little MAC 100 should work well. 1/2 way between my Orion 80 and the SkyWatcher 120. Remember the image on the phone may still be too small so you may have to zoom it up a bit in order to get the exposure to be correct. Even at that, I had a little trouble getting the exposure correct when using the larger scope, and maybe a filter would have helped.
My scope is a fast scope, so with the right eyepiece I can more than completely fill the view when looking at the Moon. A diagonal is just that, typically 45 or 90 degrees. An erector gives you an upright image, which is essential if you also use the scope for terrestrial viewing.
Anyway, your pictures are just about amazing!

Thanks Earworms! I was using a 17mm eyepiece. I experimented with a 10, but it didn't work so well. Perhaps a Barlow would have been better.

Wow, that's an impressive cell phone! I know they are good these days, but I didn't imagine that detail.

It just depends on what filters you use on your scope/camera..

When in doubt, use a B.S. filter!

That's truly remarkable for a phone/camera! Don't own one myself, but I can't wait to show this to my Daughters!!

One quick Question dlmorris.
Does that adapter fit over the lens of the telescope or is it removed and placed on the lens tube that the lens fits in?

Those are great images.
