I have a Canon prx 100 printer that will soon need ink. Can anybody recommend ink other than canon that produces good results and priced reasonably. Amazon has reasonably priced ink but unsure of the quality. And while I'm here, a big thank you to all HH contributors. I've learned so much from you folks and I greatly appreciate your expertise, advice and helpful comments.thank you!!!
I can't speak for pigment inks because I don't have experience with them. However I have over 15 years experience with Epson photo printers (dye based ink) and I've exclusively used 3rd party inks. I'm selective in where I get my ink cartridges. I direct or from Amazon and only from sellers with overwhelming positive customer feedback. Then I test the first set of cartridges carefully. My current printer is an Epson XP-950 I got 6 months ago as refurbished from Epson for $106. I had to find a new ink supplier and my best candidate was INKTUKEN (Amazon). Their price for a 6 cartridge set was less than a single OEM cartridge. I was suspicious of the name but their ink cartridges have performed flawlessly and prints look identical to prints with Epson ink. Yes, it's a bit of a gamble but I figure if I get thru 3 sets of cartridges I'll save enough to buy two new printers.
Just my experience, actual mileage may vary. Also if I had a $2000 printer I might not be so quick to gamble.

For once JB has got it right. Use third party inks if you want to screw up your printer and get inconsistent results. I've ruined three Epson printer's with such inks and had one experience where LD put the wrong colored ink in it's cartridges.

Dan, they won't listen until it's too late.
In my experience, LD cartridges are garbage made by a company who doesn't care about their customers. Just a few of the problems I've had with LD cartridges are: clogging heads, inconsistent colors, incorrect colors, non functioning cartridges, and a customer DISservice department. Watch out for the LD shills who post otherwise.

I never implied that I had a problem with LD Products. I was trying to warn others with other printers about things.
I completely agree with you. I also have had success with LD Products.

Buy OEM ink. Most printers have circuitry in them that will either not allow 3rd party carts or will tell you you're out way before you really are. I know it isn't cheap, but I've found that using OEM ink is well worth the cost.
Agree. Better safe than sorry.
check out the canon site. I ordered ink from them and got over $600 of free paper (all different sizes) with free shipping.
