Depends on why you want one.
For me, I use it only for stitched VR panoramas and I rent when I need it.

I have, but had to sell that system a few years back. You can get some interesting perspectives especially from ground level.I lost all those files sadly or I would post them for you.Maybe someone else will have some examples to help you decide.Best of luck.
Aloha

I got an 8mm Rokinon a few months ago, and I like it. It's sold under different names, Bell & Howell, among them. It's a manual lens, but it's fun to play with. They sell for around $300.

That's what I like about fisheyes. Depending on the angle you use, you can get some strange effects - or not. That's HDR, too, right?

Depends on what you want to do. Generally, mine stays at home unless I'm planning to capture something in particular (like the interior of a church) or a crowded room.

Stitching a panorama together using a wide angle lens (like a 14mm or 24mm) usually yields a more pleasing result and is what most folks want. A good fisheye lens when used infrequently can be an expensive addition to your equipment arsenal.

I have an 8mm Bower I received as a gift, nice change in perspective, but too easy to overdo, very nice effects, you can check my website under "Fishy NY" for some ideas, Bob.

I believe the Bower ias the same as my Rokinon - same lens, different name.

I have the Tokina 10-17 fish-eye zoom, I like it but just like escargot it is an acquired taste, not for everybody.

I have Nikon 10.5 fisheye - use mostly for panoramas. Also darn good for close-up - can get an in-focus image with the lens a little over 2 inches fron the object.Another fun thing - stand a friend about 1 foot in front of you, open wide, focus on the tip of the nose, then use F8. In my opinion, well worth the money
