I've been wanting to get a good shot of Sunrail - the Central Florida commuter rail. The cleanest shot I could think of was from the river as the train raced across the bridge. So, we headed up river to the bridge and this is what I came up with. The second shot was taken along the river on the way home.

The downloads are better than the thumbnail on both of these.

Sunrail - Speedy as the hare.

Maybe not tortoises - but turtles for sure.

I love how you tied these two together, Carol! Very nice clarity and interest in both. Have you done any panning? How often does that train pass? Wonder if you could use slower shutter speed and pan with it, so as to blur the background and give us a sense of speed?

One article re panning for those unfamiliar:

Thank you Linda. On weekdays the train runs every half hour to every two hours depending on the time of day. I have not really done much with panning but might give it a try. The end of the route is just about five miles from where I shot this. It goes North to the last stop and then returns going South just a short while later when they are running on the half hour or hour. I would not have wanted to pan on this particular shot. The train was actually going backwards, left to right! It goes North engine first and then returns South with the engine at the rear.

Thanks Angela. It not every day that so many turtles will stay on a log long enough for a group photo.
