My wife and I have been taking nice trips to scenic destinations in the US, Canada, and Europe for a couple years now. I have lots of photos from them - mountains, canyons, waterfalls and the like. Our last trip was to Norway in December. One of the places we visited was Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), which juts out over the Lysefjord near Stavanger. It is about a 4 km hike from a parking area. When I am at a spot like this I am carrying a camera or two and a tripod, so I guess I look a bit more serious about photos than the average tourist. I often get asked to take other people's picture with their camera, and this time it was by a 20 +/- year old girl from Poland. I told her sure, but she would have to return the favor. I wish it had been more sunny in general, but I though I would see what you all think of the shot of my wife and I at the rock.

I've done lots of things for the sake of a picture but never in a million years or a million dollars would I sit on that ledge, DRG You are daring and/or crazy but the
image is WOW!

I would think there would be snow in the picture if it was taken in Norway in December

Sorry guys, but I think you have turned what could have been a great shot of a spectacular landscape into a snapshot of two idiots that is only fit for Facebook. There again, if the shooter had captured a sharp image of the two of you plunging to your deaths it would have made for an interesting BIF shot.

You should have more sense!!!

It's a beautiful picture.

And I know why it's called 'Pulpit Rock' - anybody that far out on it needs to be praying!

Thanks for sharing.

It's called 'Pulpit Rock' as it juts out and above the fjord like a pulpit in the older churches.

That was a typo. It was September.

I believe you, but I like my explanation a lot more!

Great shot, DRG777, but I don't know if I'd have the guts to sit on that rock!

Great shot but I can even think of looking down.

I don't know if I could sit there... I'd have to be there. The picture made my knee's weak, so I'd guess No.

Great picture though

Very beautiful shot and well composed with the water feature providing a leading line and the people on the ledge providing the photo with scale.
