As a matter of fact is it, or rather was. I don't know about now but the 25th Division is there at Schofield Barracks. They were the first troops into Vietnam in 1962 - December. I know because I was rotating back to the mainland the day they packed up and pulled out. I was very fortunate not to have to go with them... it was the 27th Brigade. In peace time, if it's the same as it was, the 25th will spend around 6-months of the year in the field. By that I mean warm games up in the mountains of Oahu. Trust me that country is grim and from what I've heard it's very much like SEA in being a rain forest - constantly wet and when you get wet, even on Oahu, you get really shivering cold. So it was tough duty. Off time, it was lots of fun on the beach and in the beautiful weather. And, if you like cockroaches... they're are the size of a man's thumb there and they fly. Roaches are everywhere. Here we so many car ads on TV, there it's all roach control ads for your home.
As a matter of fact is it, or rather was. I don't... (

I was just making a joke. I served almost 30 years in the Army, but only three years was active duty.
