I bought this picture in a craft store on the Ithaca (Cornell Lab of Ornithology (Sapsucker Woods) is near by) Commons over Thanksgiving. It really blew me away. The skill level and time to make these images is unreal. The artist is Caroline Spellman and you can find her art on
http://www.handwork.coop/caroline-spellman. Also known as paper filigree, quilling is a craft that has been practiced since the Renaissance. Narrow strips of paper are rolled into coils, shaped, and glued into place. I took some macros and they are attached. Hope you enjoy them!

Unreal is right! A close friend quilts and travels to quilting shows. Wonder how many other quilters are doing this high of detail.
Nice shots BTW.
Thanx for sharing.
How lovely! The detail is stunning. Nice shots, thanks for posting.
That's Quilling, not quilting! This is thin strips of paper roled and reshaped, glued together and painted! Thanks for your nice comments!
