If you were to ask any high school graduate---How long does it take for the earth to make 1 revolution around the sun? how many would know the right answer. Or -- why do we have seasons?

don't have to, but then I studies engineering, including solar power collection.
I used to teach third grade and this was in third grade science. It takes 365.25 to go around the sun and the seasons are caused by the obliquity of the ecliptic.
It never ceases to surprise me how little young people how things work, especially our Govt
