My kids use Macs at school in photography class and at Graphics class (can't think of the actual title right now) anyway they find imovie very easy to use.
I had them try a few programs that I could find trials of or that were free. And I found them confusing myself.
They just want to easily edit and upload to youtube.
I own Cycberlink but they hate it.
I'm not going to buy 2 Macs
Can't afford them.
All PC's with Windows comes with Movie Maker as far as I know. A simple slideshow making software using jpeg images and maybe even some forms of video. Search your computer for Movie Maker and see if it shows up.
There won't be an equivalent. iMove has it's own instant wow factor.
Windows Live Movie Maker not part of Windows 10. Microsoft promoted it through Windows 8 and has stopped. It can still be installed and does work on Windows 10.
About the only video editor that runs on both Apples and Windows is Adobe Premier Elements. I'm a fan! It has an easy "Quick" mode, a capable "Expert" mode, will guide you through several editing tasks, has good online training and every tool and technique I want.

Tyr Adobe Premier elements. It works differently but is much more versatile and better.

Cyberlink PowerDirector is a great program. My son as been using various versions of it for years, and he keeps finding new things it can do. The free Windows progam can do basic editing to upload to YouTube. There are lots of free video editing programs, or you can buy two Macs.

Hi Dirtpusher. I went to the link you suggested. It indicated that it was Free. It looks OK as a videoprogram but it is not free.
Thanks I've dealt with some of those companys in the past and don't trust them.
But there are some that I didn't see before. I'll check them out.
I've never used imovie myself so the girls will have to try them .
I use Filmora. Inexpensive, edits HD and 4k video. I find it easy to use.
Just FYI - all video editing is RAM and processor intensive and can be slow on a pc that doesn't have sufficient memory and processor speed.

I'm shocked! I see free things online every day, and most of them are not free. I guess they can say whatever they want.
Filmora.
No problem. At my age I should know (Nothing is Free).
