Hello ughg members - I had posted this question before and was leaning toward buying the d610 because it's a full frame compared to the d7200 which is crpped frame.I recently read a comsumer report on electronics, specifically on cameras; I noticed thay comsimer report rated the d7200 # 5 compared to d610 which is rated #23 on the review. Any comment or crtique would be appreciated. Thanks

Who published the consumer report? Where did you read it?
The D7200 is an advanced cooped sensor camera, the D610 is an "entry level" full frame camera.
Forget about consumer report rankings. Different people have different needs.
First, determine which camera features are important to you. Then look into what each of these two cameras has to offer concerning the features important to you.

What you get should not depend on CR rankings, but on what and how you want to shoot. And how much you want to spend.
Full frame shoots wide angle easily, is usually better in low light, and can achieve very shallow depth of field for subject separation.
Crop sensor shoots telephoto easily, has a good selection of cheaper (but slower) lenses. However, if you want faster lenses then you will wind up getting full frame lenses (which are big, heavy, generally expensive, and have focal lengths that don't match use cases on crop sensor bodies).
I have both, but usually shoot the full frame camera.
Thanks jcboy3 - useful information to be considered when making a decision
If you can't decide between a crop sensor camera or a full frame sensor camera and rely on a non-photographic magazine to help you make that decision, I am sorry I can't help you.

I thinks these are correct reasons to go with Full frame.
I would just add that if you shoot portraits or indoor go D610.
If you shoot outdoor sports or need better "reach" and better autofocus performance go d7200.
Hope it helps you to choose.

Consumer Report is not free so if I want to read the review I have to pay to do so.

If you are budget minded, get the D7200. If you have extra funds, get the D500. The D500 is a fantastic camera. I have both and use the D500 almost all the time. The choice is yours. As for a full frame model the D610 and D810 are both really good cameras.

If it were me, get the D500, it is a low light monster, handles high ISO and has many features of the D5, and currently on sale with free winder. HURRY.
I have had the D7100, now have a D610 and a D750. If you go FF I recommend the D750. For me I prefer full frame. I do not mind the large size.
