Assisted Living shoot

Every year about this time some of us volunteer to take portraits at assisted living homes. This gives people some portraits to give to family for Christmas. It is also a great time for photographers and recipients.

This my effort. Didn't get the dog in as good of focus as I would have liked, but it is not easy to pose these folks because of the physical restrictions many of them have.

Giving an added sense of self worth and a reason to smile is a great gift any time of year. Kudos on all levels.

Beautiful shot it warms my heart that people like you take the time to provide this service. I'm sure it means the world to them.

Had it opened up intentionally to get the background down. Especially wanted to insure that the molding in the background was out of focus as it goes right through his head and we didn't have the luxury of changing locations in the close quarters we had to shoot in.

You could have balanced it out by focusing closer and only closing the lens a little. It's a balancing act and that is what depth of field check is for. If you don't have it on your camera you can do it by the distance guides on the lens. If you have one of those new ones where the geniuses of Japan have removed them; then you are SOL if you can't figure it without those guides.
