Oldpsych- I have a number of these at home as well (am at work now). I understand your passion for the colors inherent in the process of deterioration. I will have to dig out the shot I took of "Nellie" in front of an old GG-1 locomotive with the rusty colors enhanced. Great shots. I especially like the first shot in your second post, but they are all good.
Abo- The new models don't do much for me although I like the photos.
But that first one......WOW!!!! Imagine driving down the road in that beauty! But I'd hate the upkeep or having to start it in winter. Looks good in someone else's garage.
In another "life" I was a kitchen "designer". And yes, to me form always followed function. But some of the stuff I saw depicted in kitchen design magazines made me laugh. Concrete counters? Porous tan Mexican kitchen tiles? Fancy carved onlays over a commercial kitchen stove? These things looked great on magazine covers, but can you imagine cleaning the grease and dirt off the carved details or keeping concrete counters clean? An aquaintance had Mexican tiles in her kitchen (not my design!) and had endless issues resealing her floor and keeping it looking unstained.

Formica/Laminex is hard to beat in the kitchen... or have I written dirty words

If you have any images of your Kitchen designs I'd be really interested to see a couple.

I included the two shots of the Monaro/Pontiac just to show what Holden was exporting
to the US.

I fully agree with your objection to the guard-rail, but the folks at the Curtis-Wright museum might have had an issue with my removing it for the photo. Obviously the Airplane was sedentary, the body propped up on stands and propellers motionless. PS is a wonderful thing, but removing the rail was just too much of a PIA, the transition of green to brown grass would have been very difficult.
I still disagree with the stone fence however. Because the two overlap only slightly, to me it becomes almost an extension of the car, giving the suggestion of future motion and direction.
Also, when the car was moved back further, less of the scenic view was visible. That was another element I did not want to compromise. So, two viewers, two opinions, both with valid points. Makes for good discussion.
My wife and I almost emigrated to Australia. Her employment would have made it possible, but I guess they had enough photographers (I was pro at the time), so after some deliberation we decided to stay here. Certain recent events here in the US almost make me wish we had gone, but c'est la vie!

Australia is good and it is possibly a safer place to live than the US... on the whole, however down here in Victoria (South East corner of the mainland) the level of corruption is pretty bad and it gets up my nose no end. I'd move to NSW or QLD, however this is where
I was born and I'm not letting the ratbags win. Back in 2012 I had to defend my property and self from 2 rats committing an
"aggravated burglary". Apart from that, a Royal Commissioner (a Federal Supreme Court Judge with the power of the Crown) said corruption in the Victorian Police Force is "wide spread and deep seated". The sad part is, he added, "The level of corruption in Victoria is
so high there will be no Royal Commission into the Victoria Police". Back in the early 80s I (with the VITAL aid of the man who would become Victorias first state Coroner) exposed 12 Victoria Police officers for what
they were; criminals. I was just an IBM tech at the time and have been vulnerable to their criminal slanderous purgering ways ever since. It's a shame really because I consider honest cops heros. Fortunately as of July 2015 what I believe to be an honest
man became the Chief Commissioner of the Victoria Police. Things may be getting better. Sorry for wandering "off topic."

No problem. Sometimes when we are passionate about something, it can't help but come out.
I don't think I have any more kitchen design pics. I shot quite a few, and some for other people who worked there, but never bothered to save them to anything other than CD's which I left at work. I was never as passionate about "designing" people's hovels for them as I am about photography. To me most decisions seemed pretty obvious once you factor in room size, openings, appliances needed, and most importantly, budget. 90% of the customers would walk in with champagne tastes on a beer budget. Or have magazine clippings depicting 20 x 30 foot kitchens with ornate eat-in islands, and want me to shoe-horn these into their 30 x 40 foot ranch house with 10 x 15 foot kitchen space, preferably keeping the cost under $5000 - Labor included! I exaggerate, but I remember the time I spent many hours over 3 days with a woman designing a nice little kitchen which I managed to bring in at a reasonable cost only to find on the fourth (and I hoped final) visit, she brought in her husband who, after seeing the final product, said "but dear, you know we can't spend that much since I need to buy a new truck. I told you we need to keep this under $1500". It probably didn't help my cause when I asked him what he thought that new truck would be worth 10 years down the road, considering the new kitchen would increase the value of his home for 20 years or more.
Hee hee, you see what I mean about passion?

I get the feeling you are not a as they say now, a "people person". :-)

I know how you feel. A long time ago I did "Event Photography". Dealing
with drunks and others trying to twist your arm for lower prices... Never again! Talk
about ones faith in humanity undermined.

Anyway, is there any of you in your current kitchen?

Actually, I find surrounding myself with people of similar beliefs and tastes has worked very well to make me less of a hermit. My wife, however, could easily be a hermit since she can find flaws in just about anyone. (Occasionally even me )
When I shoot weddings or other affairs, it is only for friends.
re: kitchen:
Yes, but it took my wife and I five years after moving into our house, (with tired old dark oak cabinets) to agree on a cabinet, appliances, floor, and wall scheme. We both have strong opinions and compromise was not easy. It did finally happen however. I had decent pics of that somewhere. Will have to dig them up.
