Why do I keep hearing about non citizens of the US voting on our election. Who gave them the right to vote?

From Snopes: The League of Women Voters (along with the NAACP and other parties) filed for injunctive relief against the Election Assistance Commission on 12 February 2016 due to unilaterally imposed voter registration restrictions requiring "documentary proof" of American citizenship; current law prohibits non-citizens from registering to vote or voting under penalty of perjury.
People are worried that, by issuing drivers licenses and social security cards to non citizens, they will be able to use these items to register to vote. The groups listed above want to do away with all documentary proof of citizenship, and rely on the truthfulness of the undocumented individual regarding immigration status. Seems that a person who is already breaking the law by being in this country would have no problem breaking the law regarding registering to vote.

This starts out somewhat correct, then wanders into something else.

The announced intention of this legislation--Announced!--is to reduce voting among liberal-leaning groups, especially college students and blacks. Republicans take great pride in it on election day, and congratulate themselves of their success.

If you follow the facts, hispanics are poor voters, and tend to vote at lower rates than other groups; seems difficult to believe that three million of them vote illegally when the legal ones don't vote at those rates.

Texas in a white-minority state, meaning there are more minorities of voting age than whites, but it is still a white, conservative state in practice because the minorities (hispanics) don't vote in similar numbers than whites do.

Texas just went to court over this, a couple of times. Here's what happened.

Texas’ voter identification law violates the U.S. law prohibiting racial discrimination in elections, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.

The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed previous rulings that the 2011 voter ID law — which stipulates the types of photo identification election officials can and cannot accept at the polls — does not comply with the Voting Rights Act.

The full court's ruling delivered the strongest blow yet to what is widely viewed as the nation’s strictest voter ID law. Under the law, most citizens (some, like people with disabilities, can be exempt) must show one of a handful of types of identification before their ballots can be counted: a state driver's license or ID card, a concealed handgun license, a U.S. passport, a military ID card, or a U.S citizenship certificate with a photo.

You have to show some sort of picture id to get a library card. I fail to understand this at all, except the Liberals want undocumented aliens to be able to vote.

You are LYING again Mr. Twardlow. Texas is NOT a white minority state. Texas is 70% White. Why did you make that up? Latinos and Hispanics vote at almost the same rate (just under) as the "White" demographic in Texas. You made that up too. BTW, Latino and Hispanic is an ethnic group. It IS NOT A RACE of people.

What is wrong with you Mr. Twardlow? Are you just senile and mixed up with your facts or are you just a common every day liar.

Here are the population stats for Texas and how it is broken down by race and ethnic groups. Anyone can read this and see that you are making stuff up Mr. Twardlow.

What do you mean incorrect?? When I got my library card they wanted my drivers license, a Texas picture identification card or my military card with my picture, without a picture id they wouldn't issue me a library card. That means an illegal alien can't get a library card but he can vote, nothing more then normal Texas.

When I got mine, and later got them for my two kids, all one needed was some mail with your name and address to show residency. I suppose a license would do, but it was not required...
