Every time I see one of these colorful moths, I am reminded of the Clemson logo (Stylized tiger paw print) as well as their color...a bright orange. Since they are doing so well this year and are so often televised, I am now thinking of these moths often. They were plentiful this year among the Goldenrod blooms.

This is the Ailanthus Webworm Moth (Atteva aurea)

Thanks for sharing and I hope you all enjoy a nice weekend!

Bob

Too funny. Reminds me of the tiger's paw prints on US route 123 going into Clemson.

I lived in Greenville, SC in the late '60s, early '70s, and went to many rock concerts at Littlejohn Coliseum and a few games in Death Valley Stadium in my teen years. We used to go to the agricultural dairy school there and buy Clemson Blue Cheese, which was awesome if you like really good blue cheese.

They are, indeed, a very proud group! Thanks for visiting and for adding to this post! Good to hear from someone in the "furniture" city!

Have a nice day!

Thanks, Angela! Some of the most colorful creatures in the world come of the insect group...this one example. Glad you stopped by!
